Feeling Better! :)

I just wanted to thank everyone for your love and concern. Sadie is doing MUCH better! She still doesn't eat as much as she used to, BUT somehow she still managed to GAIN weight last week. We're taking her off the Zantac in the next couple days, which makes me nervous, but hopefully the Prevacid will be working by then. FINGERS CROSSED!

A Baby Blessing & a Hospital Trip

Phew! I'm glad that last week is over! See, about 2wks ago Sadie got that yeast infection I blogged about. -No fun, but looking back I miss it when that was our big concern! Sadie had some infection in her mouth, so she wasn't eating very well. I mentioned that to the Dr. at her 2month check-up and her Dr. (whom I adore) thought maybe it wasn't thrush, but acid reflux. I was shocked, cuz she doesn't spit up that much. She gave me some Prevacid that can take 2wks to start controlling the acid. I'm grateful my Dr was so in tune to Sadie, cuz I didn't think at that point it was reflux. BOY, WAS I WRONG!
For the past week, feedings have been nearly IMPOSSIBLE ending with both of us in tears. She arches her back and shuts her lips TIGHT! She shakes her head and is learning to push it away! It got to the point that if I held her in a feeding position, she'd scream because she thought that meant food, which meant pain. She wouldn't even suck on a pacifier. Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't have gotten this bad if I didn't blame it on thrush for so long, but I try not to guilt myself. Either way, with each day she was eating less and less, and crying more and more. I tried all these different formulas: lactose-free, soy, etc. -Some seemed to work for a feeding or two, but never really helped.
Sometimes she'd eat while I was standing, others in her carseat. We've been running circles just to keep her from dehydrating.
Saturday morning was the last straw, I woke up and found brownish spit up ALL OVER her! She also seemed to be having diarrhea (sorry for the details). I called the doctor, and she recommended taking her to Primary Children's to be checked. Yeah, I pretty much lost it. I cried all morning. This baby has turned me to mush!
After a LONG time at the hospital, we are now adding Zantac to the Prevacid, as well as Tylenol regurlarly to help with pain. UGH! No one can tell me about the brown spit up, they think it may be from the soy or she may have sores in her throat that may bleed a little. -YIKES! Zantac takes 48hrs to suppress acid, right now we're at hour...30ish so we're CAUTIOUSLY optimistic. I'll keep you posted on this, hopefully my baby will be back eating normally soon!

On a MUCH lighter note: Sadie was blessed today! :) I was nervous because she's been in so much pain, I had NO IDEA what she'd do at church! Luckily, she was great! Phew! We are so lucky to have our family nearby. It was wonderful having their love and support. Thanks to everyone that came. Sadie is lucky to be loved by so many people!

Kenna & 2 Months Old

We had Sadie's cousin, Kennedy, over for a couple hours. Kennedy is 2, and she LOVES Sadie. She's such a big helper. She brings me Sadie's pacifier or blankie wherever we may be. I put Sadie down for a nap and I had Kennedy sitting in front of her favorite show while I was getting ready. I had to sneak to put Sadie down, because I knew Kenna would want to go play with her. She kept asking, "Baby Sadie, where are you?" Anyway, Kenna was watching her show and being awfully quiet so I thought I'd better check on her. I came around the corner to the family room, and this is what I saw:

LoL, maybe she misses the baby life! I would want an indoor swing too! She found that bottle and put it on the tray. Funny girl!

In other news, Sadie is 2months old! She's super tall! Her height is in the 97th %, and her weight is 75th %. She got her shots a couple days ago. -SOOO SAD! I never hear the "pain cry," so that was awful. I got a little teary-eyed, but managed to hide it from others. I don't know who hated the shots more, me or Sadie. I think I did, because at least she has super short-term memory. I still remember it all too vividly!

What?!? Babies Don't Stay Little?!?

The only fun part of a baby getting big is getting new clothes! I have some pretty cute outfits hanging in the closet just waiting for her! It was time to get some new jammies (pj's), so I went to the store. And what did I find??? Her same jammies in a bigger size! I tried to pick other ones, I even had a different one in hand ready to go. But oh how I missed seeing her in those green pj's. I couldn't handle the thought of never seeing her in them again. Am I pathetic? -My sad face about Sadie getting big...maybe I should feed her less. J/K!!! Don't leave hate comments, I'll keep feeding her!

Ups and Downs

UPS:
Sadie has had an eventful week! Monday night she hit a new sleep record: 10hrs! It hasn't happened since then. (-She usually goes 7-8hrs, still good!) I took this picture one of the MILLION times I checked her to see if she was breathing! LoL! I even moved the baby monitor into the crib because I was worried I just wasn't hearing her. By the way, she's wearing a "SwaddleMe," we call it a Snuggie, and she LOVES it! I only have her wear it at night so she doesn't get too used to it, but I give it some of the credit for her sleeping for so long. LOVE the snuggie! This is Sadie and her new buddy, Hudson! Hudson is 3wks younger, they look pretty cute together, huh? Sadie is already a flirt! I got together with my best childhood friends, Bekah & Kjirsten. Hudson is Kjirst's baby, and Bekah has a 9month old, Jude. I'm bummed I didn't get a picture of Jude! I will next time for sure!

DOWNS
:
Sadie had a sad diaper rash that wasn't going away. Then I noticed a couple soars on her cute, little bum! I took her to the doctor, and yes, it's a yeast infection! Poor Baby! She doesn't seem to bothered by it. The stinky thing is that babies that get a yeast infection once are way more likely to get them again. The doctor also noticed a little of the infection in her mouth (super common), so now she has 2 perscriptions. I hope she starts feeling better!

Getting used to the sling

So I got one of these baby slings. They're quite convenient, though Sadie is NOT so fond of them! He! He! She'll only stay in it for about 10min. Just after we took this picture, she pooped BIG TIME and it got on the sling. -I think it was a ploy to get out. Now it's in the wash, so she's free!

The owners of our apartments were so nice, they bought Sadie this little play mat. She already likes it a lot. She's not sure why the animals move when she swings her arms, but eventually she'll figure it out!
