Santa found us at my mom's house

Cory was unimpressed with how his little ipod was wrapped! He! He!

We're still trying to decide if Aujelle or Maddie got more excited!

I think Maddie wins! She'd toss her hands up and say, "I LOVE Christmas so much!"

So excited to use my new pregnancy journal! Thanks, Auj!

We got to talk to Alex on his mission in San Diego!
He's doing well, and it was really fun to talk to him!

Cory's Birthday!!! Yea! He's 25!!! So old!!!

New ultrasound! It didn't show up so well on this print, but we saw our little bundle perfectly. Turns out that this baby has Cory's energy level! The baby was kicking and punching up a storm! Good thing I can't feel it yet!

A little baby bump!

O Christmas Tree!

Those that know me, know I like to decorate.  Christmas is the perfect opportunity for me.  The sad thing is that those who know me too well, know that I can be...quite particular with how I like things.  Even at school, when I want something to look a certain way, I tell my students that I'm going to be "picky."  LoL!  Maybe I shouldn't have them reinforce my tendencies! I've had some friends call me "OCD," but I prefer "particular" or "picky."
Anyway, I love our little hand-me-down Christmas tree. This year I decorated the entire tree by myself while Cory was doing homework. Why, you ask? Just so I could do the ornaments the way I like! LoL!  I like them evenly dispersed!  Cory would have done a fine job, but I know I would have redone a lot of it, as I've done in the past.  :)  Oh no, am I sick???

Twilight & Talkative Teens

It finally happened!  I saw Twilight! Yea!  It was a true GNO with my sis, Amanda, and cousins: Krystal, Britney, Jessica, Natalie, and Hillary. Gotta love girls' night!  We went to dinner at Spaghetti Mama's. I had never eaten there before and chose it solely because it was in Jordan Commons. (I didn't want to miss a second of the movie)  It was really yummy!  You get free ice cream with dinner, so that alone makes it great!
Now I know some people are dying to hear a review, so here's my opinion.  I liked it more than I thought I would, so I'm really happy with it!  If you go see it, have realistic expectations.  It is made from a cheesy book about things that could never happen.  With that said, it was a really fun movie!  Don't bother bringing your man, if you need a gal to go with, give me a call!
Oh!  And don't forget about the kind of people you'll be in the theater  with.  There were some obnoxious teenage girls behind us. LAME!  They would talk SO LOUDLY!  They laughed at every line, even if it wasn't funny!  They screamed boos whenever Edward came on (they were obviously Jacob fans).  AND the loudest one had already seen it, and gave stuff away, repeatedly!  I can't wait 'til they grow up in a few years, and are completely embarrassed for acting so annoying. One bad thing about being a teacher:  I have NO problem disciplining other people's children!  LoL!  Natalie, Jessica, and I let them have it several times throughout the movie.  I even stayed after to chat a little with them about being more considerate. LoL! They just stood  there silently staring at me!  Oh dear!  When did I get so old????  Would you talk to them about being rude, or was I out of line?  Or perhaps, would you be more shy?  Let me know!

Discovery Gateway

Today I went to Discovery Gateway with my cute nieces.  I got some free passes when a worker from the discovery museum came to teach a way fun science lesson to my students.  There are a lot of fun things for young kids, so I totally recommend it. Maddie loved sending plastic balls through vaccum tubes, and Kennedy wanted to climb in and out of the bird house all day.

Fun Day after a Busy Week!

Well, I'm finally off-track again, so you should be hearing from me a lot more!  Have I ever said that I LOVE going off-track, because I DO!  I know some people aren't familiar with the "track" school system, but basically, I work all year (summers too) but I work for 9 weeks, then I get 3 weeks off.  The reason is because there are so many kids in Utah, they can't fit in the schools all at the same time, so we're basically taking turns.  Anyway, I especially love THIS off-track time because I get 4 weeks off instead of 3!  Wow, a whole month!  What to do...blog, I guess!
So I'll catch you up a bit.  Last week was BUSY at school! I'm in charge of the student council for our school, along with my great friend, Helen.  We took some of the student council members to BYU for a leadership seminar. It was really fun!  There were some great speakers!  John Bytheway had the kids rocking in their seats laughing so hard!  It was a long day, but a good experience.
The next two days were Parent-Teacher Conferences. STRESSFUL!  I'm a lot more confident at conferences now, but I used to get so nervous. I just feel so much younger than the parents that I don't know why they would listen to me.  But I'm much more comfortable now!  I like hearing from the parents and sharing ideas about their kids. But I'm still glad those two 12-hour days are over, yuck!
So now I'm chillaxing (chilling+relaxing) after being overworked last week.  Today, I went to lunch with my mom and sis. Then, I went with Amanda's family to see WallE (-it was okay). And I got my hair cut/colored. It's really short and dark! Compare it to that picture on the top right, big change for me!  Let me know if you like it better light or dark!

Catching up with old friends!

This weekend was so much fun! Saturday I went to a baby shower for Kelley Morris Crawley. Amy was nice enough to host it, and it was so fun! I haven't seen some of the girls there in a LONG time, and it was great to see everyone again!

Sunday, we had some of my bestest friends in the whole world over! This is my USU Family! Up in Logan, we spent every spare minute together! It all started with the boys "putting out the vibe" trying to get some girls. I guess it worked! Our relationship has lasted through some tough times like: putting fish in a toilet, filling a tub with mashed potatoes, ruining toothbrushes, cross dressing, and getting thrown into a pool while fully dressed! Awe, good times! :) We've gotten together a few times since school, but because of out-of-state jobs/school, we haven't all been together in over 3years!

Camping

Cory and I went camping last weekend with Amanda, Aaron, and Maddie. Despite the rain, it was still super fun, and we can't wait to do it again!

Aaron & Ama making peach cobbler in the new dutch oven!

Mmm....Marshmallows!!!

My poor hubby! He only brought one pair of shorts and sandals! He's only gone camping in southern Utah, so he didn't think that the mountains actually got cold. Plus, we didn't have that much firewood!

Niagara Falls

Three years ago, Cory and I went to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon. For our anniversary this year we decided to go back. It was so fun! Cory has already been super busy with school, so it was nice to get away. I let him study on the plane, and then he gave me all the attention in the world at Niagara. On our
first trip we stayed in the cheapest hotel we could find. BIG MISTAKE! LoL! First, they almost lost our reservation. Then, I woke in the middle of the night to a screaming fight next door. The shower was the size of a small pantry, and some genius screwed in the hotel hairdryer too far from the outlet. Lastly, the maids would try and bust in even with the "Do Not Disturb" sign and the door locked! -I was in the shower and they almost made it in! No wonder this time, that hotel was out of business! Luckily, we were too happy being on our honeymoon to get too upset. This time, we did it right. Cory's dad travels for his job, so he gave us frequent flier miles and hotel points, which made this trip possible. Thanks Vern! We stayed at a nice hotel that served HOT breakfast and was walking distance to the falls. We did "The Cave of the Winds" which is where we got to take and elevator down the gorge and then walk on a wooden walkway right up to the American Falls! The water pounded on us so hard! I didn't dare get the camera out while we right at the water! Then we went on "The Maid of the Mist" which is a boat that takes you right up to the bigger falls, Horseshoe Falls. The current is so strong that the boat going full blast just stands still! We did get a picture of that. Horseshoe Falls takes up your entire field of vision! You can't even focus on the whole thing! Later we went to a museum and saw a film about the...brave/crazy people that have gone over the falls. The first, was a 63-year old female teacher! That could be me! She even survived to tell about it. -In the cheesy movie we watched, she took a black kitten in the barrel with her. After she went over the falls, the kitten came out white! Poor kitty! One of our favorite parts was dinner. We ate at "The Top of the Falls" restaurant. It was delicious! Since it was for our anniversary, we went all out and got whatever we wanted, including an appetizer. LoL, we never get an appetizer! We got to sit out on the balcony overlooking the falls. The picture just shows the mist from behind us, not doing the view justice! Overall, it was a perfect trip!

Zoo & Real Soccer Game

One of the perks of living downtown is that everything is so close!  I went to the zoo with Amanda and her two girls, Maddie and Kennedy. It was really fun! Maddie had a goal to learn what each animal ate, so we read all the signs and even asked zoo workers for help.  What a fun, educational day! -Perfect for a teacher! :) Here are some pics:

The next night, Cory and I got offered free tickets to the Real soccer game!  Real beat Colorado 2-0!  Go Real!!!  I've never been to a professional soccer game before.  It was really fun! I guess that's why it's such a popular sport worldwide!  We doubled with my good friend, Chad, from Utah State. Chad has been in Massachusetts for the past few years and just came back to Utah to get yet another degree.  (He has more degrees than a thermometer! j/k-that was lame!) Anyway, here are some pics from the game:

Dr. Kogelschatz

Last Friday, Cory had his "White Coat Ceremony." The University presented him with his doctor's coat and his first stethoscope!  A day before we got his first pair of scrubs, cute!  He wouldn't let me take a picture of him in scrubs, but he couldn't stop me from taking pictures at
 the ceremony.

3 Years and Counting!

Wow! Can you believe it? Cory and I have been married for 3 years! Our anniversary was on August 16. We're going to Niagara Falls over Labor Day to celebrate.  I just wanted to thank Cory for being the best husband. He's a great listener and always knows how to make me laugh! I love you, Cory!
