Sadie THRIVES!
No more failure here! Sadie weighs 29lbs, which I was expecting 27lbs, so I'm THRILLED! The doctor wanted to make sure that her percentages didn't decrease again. She actually went up in percentages, so that's great! Thank you, Pediasure!

Bubba Turns 1!
Despite my pleading, time still passed and Easton turned one. At least I could distract myself with some party plans. Here are the highlights:
Easton LOVES wheels! He'll find any toy with wheels and flip it over and start spinning! Since we've never really had an occasion to buy him gifts, he doesn't really have toys of his own. Don't feel sorry for him, Sadie has PLENTY of toys to share. In fact, when Easton is being really quiet and you're not sure where he is, you'll find him sitting in Sadle's room spinning the wheels on her Barbie car.

Almost 1
This is the last picture of Easton as 11month old. Tomorrow he turns ONE! I'm very much in denial about the whole event. I didn't don't want it to come.
The year goes by too quickly. I didn't change much at all. But Bubba certainly did.
Easton is quite possibly the best baby ever. (Sorry Sadie, eat more) He has not gotten up in the night in over six months. He eats like a champ, tries all sorts of new things. And he's truly happy almost all the time! If someone could guarantee that all my babies would be just like Easton, I could probably have 8! (Good thing I know better, we're not going anywhere NEAR 8)
Before I had Easton, I thought every mom wanted just girls. I secretly thought that when a mom found out she was having a boy, she was a teeny bit sad. I was very wrong. I'm quite obsessed with my boy. I now understand this woman:

Failure to Thrive
Yes, my sweet Sadie Rose is technically "failure to thrive." What a mean term. Failure. Sheesh. They could say something like, "trying to thrive." ;)
Remember when she was put on the "high fat diet?" (-the link to my fave video: oreo vs. broccoli) This summer at her 3yr old check-up she fell off her curve for weight and height. Thumbs down. It's not that she's crazy small, she isn't. The concern is that she's not staying in her percentile.
There is some debate whether or not her stats actually meet Failure to Thrive. The Dr's stats say there's a problem. But we have some WIC stats that say she might be okay. I like to say, she's BARELY thriving.
Either way, I know she eats the minimum that I force her to. She doesn't have joy in food. Even in her favorite foods, Sadie has portion-control all too mastered. I don't think I've ever seen her finish a whole cupcake. She likes it, just would rather play than eat.
So, in just over a week Sadie has a weigh in! I'm putting m&m's on her PB sandwiches, and handing her Pediasure shakes almost daily. I would LOVE if she pulled 30lbs on the scale, but I'm pretty sure she's a few pounds shy.

Crafting much?
The number of crafts at my house is directly related to how much time I've been alone while Cory is off at work.
p.s.- notice duplicates? I ran out of money and space, so I started making more for my mom. Desperate to craft!
...he's gone a lot.

Bubba
We call Easton "Bubba" 90 99% of the time.
Not really sure if I want it to stick, but it certainly has stuck thus far!
.
In fact, when Easton sees himself in the mirror, he says "buh buh" and I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean baby.

Slide Phobia
Sadie Rose is a fearful child. She just came to our family a little tense. Remember this and this and this? Well, slides were just one more fear that needed conquering. We started small, with baby slides. Go, Sadie, Go!

Decide that you want it
more than you are afraid of it.
more than you are afraid of it.
~Bill Cosby

Panic at the thought of
doing a thing
is a challenge to do it.
~Henry S. Haskins

Avoiding danger is no safer
in the long run than
outright exposure.
The fearful are caught
as often as the bold.
~Helen Keller

Fear has a large shadow,
but he himself is small.
~Ruth Gendler
To conquer fear
is the beginning of wisdom.
~Bertrand Russell

WAY TO GO, BRAVE GIRL!
