Can you believe it? Baby boy is ALMOST here!!! And yes, his name is still "Baby Boy." We've got our name list whittled down to a few, but my clever husband threw me a CURVE BALL!
He says I can name our son WHATEVER I want if he can DELIVER THE BABY!?!? That's right! My NOT-QUITE-a-doctor husband wants to pretend to be my real doctor!
Aaah! I did my wifely duty, and asked my OB what her thoughts were. Her response, "Sounds great! I'm on board!" Am I the only one that finds this a little unnerving? I get it, all he has to do is catch, but it's an IMPORTANT catch!
Well, I've fallen in love with a name. And I'm assured that the doctor will be hovering inches over Cory ready to SHOVE him out of the way if need be. Sooo....I *think* I'll let him do it!
I warm up to the idea more and more each day. Cory has been the one to "catch" the baby before during his medical rotations...he said that it was pretty amazing knowing your hands were the first to ever touch that person. I'd love for Cory to be the first person to hold my son.
Am I crazy for letting him do this? Am I crazy for even hesitating about an amazing opportunity? Goodness, I don't know.

I think that is actually really cool. Seriously - get the name you want, and let Cory catch the baby. Everyone wins!
I can understand why you're nervous, but at least your husband has medical training. If Trevor told me he wanted to deliver the baby, I think I would just laugh. ;)
I think you should do it...but only if you feel comfortable with it. Heaven knows that you don't need to stress about THAT on top of labor!
I think it would be really cool to have him deliver the baby. Like you said, it's not like your doctor is going to leave him to deliver it on his own. She'll be there and so will the nurses. He'll have plenty of people there to guide him through it. I think it'd be a really neat experience besides the fact that he won't be there holding your hand through the actual delivery but he will be there guiding your baby into this life and to me that seems really cool. If I were in your position I'd let my husband do it for sure.
I think it sounds like it could be cool. I think I would let my husband were I in your situation. And with a doctor willing to be there for it too, I would be way less nervous.
Oh, I think that is so cute! I don't think you're crazy, especially since the doctor will be right there. I think it's really cool that Cory would be the first to touch the little boy. I agree with what's been said, though, that you should only do it if it won't totally stress you out.
Plus, getting to pick the name is a BIG bonus!
Oh yeah! There's nothing to it! Is that really Sadie on the top of your page!? She is getting so big! I hope you have an easy labor and delivery and that everything goes as you would like it to. I can't wait to meet "baby boy."
That's awesome. He'll do great! My sister delivered her own baby in their bathtub! Not on purpose. So I'm pretty sure he can handle.
I think it is such a great opportunity and I am so excited for you both! I hope it all goes well and I look forward to meeting the little guy whenever he arrives! Take care of yourself!
I think it's great!!! I cannot wait to hear all about it!!! I am SOOO excited for you this morning!!
